The McTimoney manipulation and Equine sports massage techniques that Juli practices are recognised 'complementary' therapies and are supported by their relavent association bodies. Any treatment performed does not replace veterinary care, Juli does not diagnose musculoskeletal problems as this is the role of the veterinary surgeon. Juli is not a veterinary surgeon however is trained and qualified in her field.
Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966
It is illegal for any person to treat an animal unless they are a veterinary surgeon or a 'paraprofessional' covered by the Veterinary Surgeons (Exemptions) order 1962.
Juli Walters is classed as a paraprofessional by the Veterinary Surgeons (Exemptions) Order 1962 and therefore is allowed to practice with the prior consent of the animal's veterinary surgeon. Juli will always seek veterinary permission before treatment.
Chiropractors Act 1994
Juli Walters is a graduate of McTimoney College (University of Wales) and is fully qualified and insured to practice McTimoney animal manipulation. The General Chiropractic Council (GCC) UK regulates only the chiropractic treatment of humans. Juli Walters is not registered with the GCC and in compliance with section 32 of the Chiropractors Act 1994 does not describe herself a chiropractor, chiropractic practitioner, chiropractic physician, or any other type of chiropractor..
